Horsetail Reed

Horsetail, Equisetum hyemale is a emergent, long-lived perennial plant that grows 2'-4' feet tall. It prefers full to part sun, and requires a consistently moist soil. These plants are members of the Equisetaceae family, and they reproduce with small, spore-producing cone structures. A welcome addition to water gardens or edges of retention ponds.
