Leadership & Team
Davis Byrklt: General Manager
Davis Byrklt, General Manager of Wilcox Nursery and Landscape, embarked on his journey in the world of native plants by joining a small gardening company specializing in the maintenance of native yards. During this time, he gained invaluable hands-on experience with a wide array of Florida’s native plant species. Many of the landscapes he maintained were designed by Wilcox Nursery, allowing him an intimate understanding of how native plants can be used in urban landscaping.
Nikki Bales: Retail Manager
Nikki Bales, Retail Manager of Wilcox Nursery and Landscape, became interested in native plants when she moved to Florida in 2016. Her general interest in nature and passion for birding helped introduce her to the ecosystems of Florida. Growing up in Maryland and Georgia, Nikki was often found outdoors exploring nature, catching critters and trying to bring them home. Now she uses her experiences to promote preservation and restoration of our wild areas.
Alex Izzo: Services Manager
Alex Izzo is the Services Manager at Wilcox Nursery, where he oversees various aspects of the company’s Landscaping and Gardening operations to ensure high-quality service for clients. Since joining Wilcox in 2022 as the Landscape Coordinator, he played a crucial role in sourcing and ordering plants for landscape projects, helping to create beautiful and sustainable outdoor spaces. His dedication to native plants and environmentally friendly landscaping makes him a valuable asset to the Wilcox team.
Jared Eckwielen: Social Media & Marketing Manager
Jared Eckwielen, the Social Media & Marketing manager at Wilcox Nursery and Landscape, brings a fun and creative approach to the nursery and landscape business. Joining the team in 2025, he is helping Wilcox grow with the fast paced world.
Jared is a Florida native, growing up in central Florida with a passion for exploration and adventure. Recently he has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of South Florida. During his free time Jared enjoys the outdoors, visiting national parks and local nature preserves where he documents the natural beauty of North America using his film camera from the 70’s. His love for the outdoors stems from his late grandfather, who was extremely passionate about conservation serving as the superintendent for numerous state parks in New Jersey, and his dad who would get him outside where they enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. With his degree and love for nature, Jared hopes to show people the importance of the natural world and conservation.
Zack Pitchford: Owner
Zack Pitchford, Owner of Wilcox Nursery and Landscape, stands at the forefront of a remarkable mission: “Wilcox Nursery exists to love and value the connection between nature and those who live in it by leading a movement of sustainable and environmental change in our industry and community.” His main focus is to continue progressing this mission by promoting native plants through retail and landscape design.
