Azure Sage

Azure or Blue Sage, Salvia azurea, is a perennial that grows 2 to 3 ft. tall. It is a tall, lanky plant with 2-lipped, blue flowers, whorled around the square stem and forming a terminal spike-like cluster. The blue color of the flowers is stunning and as always the case with Salvia species, a good pollinator plant including butterflies. Because of its tall lanky habit, it is best planted with grasses or other mixed wildflower plantings.
