Product Description

Lakeside Sunflower, Helianthus carnosus, is a rare perennial wildflower with basal leaves that are narrow with bloom stalks that stand tall above the leaves to a height of 2 to 3 feet. This wildflower grows in moist soil and full sun. This sunflower, true to it's genus has 2 to 3 inch sunny yellow rayed petals and disk flowers. Lakeside Sunflower is truly unique and beautiful. It is endemic to 5 counties of Northeast Florida only and blooms in the summer and fall attracting bees, butterflies and birds to it's seeds. Be sure to plant this Sunflower where it will stay moist.
